Collection Of Press Photographs Given To Club
An Email recently arrived out of the blue from former Packet Newspapers Sports Editor Leon Prynn. The Packet Staff were looking to clear their archives and offered Leon the opportunity to have the photos rather than throw them away. Luckily for us Leon took up the offer and contacted us to arrange a hand over. There are approximately 40 pictures ranging from the mid 70's to the mid 90's. We would like to publicly thank Leon for taking the time to save the photos .

Club History Comes to light
The on-going quest to fill in the gaps in Troon's Club history by Anthony Carter received a boost recently with the discovery of a large collection of old 1st and 2nd XI score books. It came as a result of a conversation with Jack Angove's widow Pat.
Jack had been a long time Secretary of Troon and Pat had said that Jack had retained a number of the old books. Anthony is currently working his way through the books. The oldest found to date covers the 1897 Season. As can be seen from the pictures below it is in remarkably good condition. One interesting point to note is that the MCC Laws of Cricket at that time stipulated 5 ball overs!
We hope to publish more information on these pages as Anthony's investigation progresses.
