First Winter Signing Anounced

Following two seasons at local Club Perran-ar-worthal, Thomas Williams will be rejoining Troon for the 2010 Season.

During his time at Perran, Tom has developed into a fine Bowling all rounder. His figures speak for themselves having taken 69 league wickets at an average of 18.45. The high point came in 2008 when he took 6 for 26 in the match which Perran memorably bowled Camborne out for 84.  2009 saw Thomas lead Perran's bowling attack with 32 wickets.

I am sure that everybody involved with Troon, especially Tom's Parents Ian & Chris, will warmly welcome Thomas home and wish him the best of luck for the coming season.

New Leadership Team Appointed.

Troon Cricket Club are pleased to announce the appointment of a new Chairman and Vice Chairman.

Paul Mitchell has been sitting as acting Chairman since Terry Carter's departure earlier this year. Paul had made it known at the outset that due to his own work commitments he would only hold the fort until the AGM when it was hoped that a suitable willing successor would be found.

Following much sole searching and sleepless nights Stephen White has put himself forward to fill the massive void left by Terry's departure. Malcolm Dunstan will by Stephen's Deputy and work is underway to strengthen an already strong General Committee with some new blood along with some previously active Committee members. Stephen has taken the Chair with Immediate affect and will be seeking election by the members at the Club AGM in January.

Stephen's aim is to re-focus on the Club's core values and move the Club forward with some high profile projects already in early planning stages.

Club Stalwart steps down as Chairman.

Due to an exciting work opportunity in China, Terry Carter has stepped down as Chairman of Troon Cricket Club.Terry has been a corner stone of Troon since his time as Captain of the Victorious Village Competition side during the clubs glory years. He has always worked tirelessly for the club and will be sorely missed. The Club would like to thank Terry for his devotion and hard work, and wish him luck in his new work venture. We will still see Terry around the Club between his trips abroad.

Paul Mitchell will be slipping into the Chair until the next AGM. I am sure that every one will support Paul as he attempts to fill the void left by Terry''s departure.
